Plate Mate Hex 1.25 lb. Pair

PlateMate Hex attaches to weights securely with three superstrong magnets. Versatile design fits solid-poured dumbbells, Olympic bars, power blocks, and stack weight machines.
Customer Review: Plate Mates good enough, but not perfect
We need to microload in weighttraining, especially for advanced dumbbell training. Plate Mates are great for that, although in my gym the plates tend not to stick to the dumbbells perfectly. This may be due to the gym's dumbbells not being perfectly metallic, but covered with iron. That being the case, the plates fall off during the set if you stick them in the wrong position. Sometimes sticking them to the inside of the plate may be better. I still carry them usually every time I go to the gym.
Customer Review: "Little Gems"
I was introduced to the concept of "microloading" through the writings of Stuart McRobert Build Muscle Lose Fat Look Great: Everything You Need to Know to Transform Your Body(which I highly recommend). Previously, when weight training, I would work up to my best lifting poundages and would remain there indefinately. I now cycle my training intensity to build a gaining monentum troughout the cycle. As I reach my previous best poundages I make use of these "little gems" to nudge myself beyond prior sticking points in weight. I own both sizes of the PlateMate hexagonal weights(2pr. ea. of the 1 1/4lb'ers & the 5/8lb'ers). I own a complete set of hexagonal dumbells from 5lbs. to 50lbs. in 5lb. increments. Sometimes that 5lb. jump (10lbs. between the 2 'bells) is quite substantial. For instance on strict DB curls I would master the 15lb. 'bells and move up to the 20lb'ers where my form would completely break down to "cheat" the weight up out of necessity. I had always wished that someone would make an 18lb. 'bell. Now I just slap on a pr. of 1 /14lb PlateMates on ea. of my 15lb'ers and voila, 17 1/2 pound dumbbells. I'll even add the 5/8lb PlateMates to the outside of the 1 1/4lb units. Now I have 18 3/4lb. 'bells. You can see how in this manner the Jump from 15lb to 20lb now becomes something achievable through manageable, small increments of progressive weights. My only negative observation would be the lack of a 1 7/8lb. PlateMate. When stacking the small one onto the big one it makes for a pretty wide overall package and care must be taken during certain lifts to avoid knocking off the little ones. (They have some type of coating, maybe rubber, that makes the magnets hold a little weaker when stacked in this manner.) Overall experience was very satisfying, and I highly recommend this product to anyone interested in gaining strength or muscle.

Professional Grade Fitness, Exercise Balls

Customer Review: not all balls measure up
I like this ball but it's not as big as I thought it would be. I believe this ball was measured deflated and is 22cm deflated, not inflated. I'm 5'3" and this ball is too small for me to use properly. I had previously purchased a stability ball from Fitness Quest. Same measurements but a bigger ball. My younger son works out with me and has no problem with this ball. My best advice is, if in doubt, see if you can contact someone before purchasing and ask if the ball was measure inflated or deflated. Still a quality ball. Just be careful on the size ordered to make sure you are getting what you need for your workouts.

Customer Review: Broke in under 2 months.. BUT...
This was working fine and I was very happy with it but then the cable broke that goes between the two steps. Amazon would not refund/return it as it was over 30 days (buyers beware of that policy!) and so I contacted the manufacturer directly and then sent me a new cable. So shame it broke - but good to know the manufacturer would send out a replacement part free of charge.
Customer Review: Works Great recomended by my Physcial Therapist
I bought this about a month after I had knee surgery. I told my physical therapist and he was quite impressed. Of course I had to start off slow. I've used the resistance bands as well, but since they are connected with plastic clips I'm a little cautious with them. At any rate the stepper itself is well made, and is easily used while watching tv.

Manduka 71-Inch PROlite Travel Yoga and Pilates Mat

This awesome eco-responsible yoga mat is Manduka's alternative offering to their ultra-heavy 7-pound-BlackMatPRO. The 4-pound PROlite has all of the great qualities of the BlackMatPRO (density, durability, firmness), but it is slightly thinner and narrower than the its heavyweight counterpart. Available in 5 colors: purple, olive, pacific, pinot, and apricot. 3/16" x 24" x 71" (3" longer than a standard yoga mat)
Customer Review: Manduka Travel Mat
I have been a yoga student for 8 years and over time have used several different mats; nike, lululemon etc.. A month ago my yoga teacher suggested I buy a manduka travel-light mat for a firmer support under my feet; ILOVE IT! It is light and easy to carry and most importantly my balance has improved. It is firm but very comfortable! You will not be disappointed.
Customer Review: Unfortunatelly this mat is very slippery
This mat is very slippery for vinyasa yoga. I bought it to replace my old mat that I have for over 5 years, a regular inexpensive mat that I couldn' t find any more in the market. I have washed the manduka mat more than 20 times and I have tried all possible different detergents. It is still slippery.

New Balance Men's M498 Running Shoes

A versatile Heritage style running shoe with Abzorb cushioning and Dual Density Medial Post to accommodate mild to moderate overpronator. Synthetic/mesh upper provides lightweight comfort and support. C-Cap Midsole : Provides lightweight cushioning and flexibility.
Customer Review: New Balance Quality, Conservative Style
I sometimes have trouble finding light, comfortable running shoes that are reasonably priced and not designed for kids (bright colors, lightning bolts, see-through cushion bubbles, etc.). So I've worn 497's for years. This is the replacement model, and although New Balance has updated them somewhat, they still have the toned-down styling I like. Most of all, they are well made and they still make my feet feel very good.

Powerline PDR282X 32-Inch 2-Tier Dumbbell Rack

Rack holds one pair each of 5-30 lb. hex dumbbells (sold separately).
Customer Review: Sturdy and easy to assemble
I was pleased with the quality of this item. I was afraid it would be too flimsy to hold the weights, but it is very sturdy. It was also very easy to assemble. Overall, a great buy.

Customer Review: Great Calf Block!
This is such a great upgrade over the old calf block I had. The one I had was the more traditional squared off metal kind so that the only part of the foot that makes contact is the small area that hangs on the edge. This calf block has a nice curve to it and it keeps more of the foot in contact which just feels better on the foot. It also feels much more secure and you never feel like your foot might slip off the edge like I did with the old block I had. The calf area has a nice surface that your feet wont slip off of even when your deep into the bottom position of a calf raise. Something thats hard to tell from the pictures is the height of the curved calf area. I think the measurements say that its 6 1/2 inches tall which is great because it really allows for a good stretch at the bottom which is very important for calves! Then theres also the squat platform part of it. I have to admit that I doubt I will ever use this feature for squatting. The only version of the squat Ive ever heard of that you really might want elevated heels is front squats so I guess if I ever get into those maybe I will try it. But for now its sort of worthless and I sort of thought about not bolting the whole thing together and just using the calf part on its own but I ended up putting it together more to make it more stable for calf exercises. The assembly is no problem if you have some tools. There are some nice rubber pads on the bottom that make sure it wont move while your using it. This is a fairly substantial piece of equipment both in size and weight so if space is a concern keep that in mind.
Customer Review: Calf Raise
Use next to a support bar for balance. Grab a single dumbell and do some one legged raises. Great for the full stretch and easy on the balls of the feet. Will show you the difference in each leg real quick and allow for you to adjust. Have not used the squat block for squating as I feel that it reduces the flexibility of the calf muscle.
